I want to go into schools and talk at parent teacher counscell meetings. Talk to them about what is going on with kids with autism. I know this is what our mission is but wouldn't it be helpful in going into schools and actually talking about it. Possibly show this movie then or before talk to them about personal experiences and statistics. I don't know. It a rough idea but I'm sure we could all come up with some ideas. I Purchased the DVD with the same thing in mind.....

I also purchased the DVD and am anxiouly waiting for shipment. It's such perfect timing for my step-son! He's new to his school this year and has already encountered bullying and difficulties fitting in. Fortunately the school staff have acted on the bullying and this seems to have settled down, however I'm going to suggest that all staff and the Principal view the DVD. Perhaps they'll feel as I do. That it's something that should be viewed by the entire student body. If it hits home with even just one of those children that had been giving him a rough time, than that's at least one child who has now become open enough to accept diversity in this world. Graham....I hope you actively pursue your plan. I WISH there were someone in my area willing to do the same. Unfortuneatly it won't eliminate bullying altogether, but I think it could save alot of anguish for those kids with AS and other disadvantages struggling through the mainstream of the schooling system. Your uniqueness has offered you the ability to make a change, to make a difference for the better. You should go for it!!

Well...

If people are willing to put up a bed for me to stay in as long as there are no cats, I'm very willing to raise the travel funds. I'd probably want to stick to the lower mainland and vancouver island area but if funds etc. allow me to go further I am more than willing to go where and whenever. My Contact info is posted below so feel free to use it. Graham Kendall Youth Moderator
